New Products this Holiday Season! |
With the holidays upon us, notice how people decorate their homes or offices. Have you ever seen a decorative plate or bowl resting in a plate-stand? Chances are that the plate-stand was made of plastic or wood. New this season, Loroco introduces a better option.
Take a look at our new plate holder made from recycled materials.

Also, look for our new SUPER ECONOMY CHIPBOARD. Super Economy is a dry finish, light density chipboard. It is available in the following calipers: .019, .025, .032 and .045 thick. It is ideal for use as a 'tier or layer sheet, as void fill, as a dust cover' or any location where bulk is needed.

Recycling for Over 110
Years!
|
Loroco's engineering
solutions are good for the environment and good for you. Since 1898, we have
been replacing your product parts with recycled paperboard items and other
medium. Recycling paper reduces the impact on the environment, both upstream
where raw materials are acquired and processed and downstream lowering
waste-disposal impacts.
People everywhere are waking
up to the fact that global climate change is a reality. We all must do our part
to help protect the environment. Today paperboard packaging in general, and
especially products from certified sustainable sources, are receiving new
attention, as manufacturers dealing with environmental, health, and regulatory
issues look to renewable resources to meet increasing demand. It is now
mandatory in many countries for paper-based packaging to be manufactured wholly
or partially composed of recycled material.
The US Environmental
Protection Agency has found that recycling causes 35% less water pollution and
74% less air pollution. Recycling paper decreases the demand for virgin pulp
and thus reduces the overall amount of air and water pollution associated with
paper manufacture. There are many other benefits for recycling such as reducing
energy consumption, reducing waste in landfill, and reducing the threat of
deforestation.
Taking action to 'go green'
and use recycled paper products will benefit you with a cleaner, healthier
environment, and better product performance with cost efficiencies that impact
your bottom line. Ask us how we can help you 'go green' for the environment and
'save green' in your wallets.

Speaking With Lee Rozin, CEO of Loroco |
Q: This year signifies three
very important milestones at Loroco Industries, the company's 110th
Anniversary, your 75th Birthday and it marks 50 years of your
involvement with the company. What were some of the challenges you faced as you
followed in the footsteps of your father and grandfather?
A: As I look back on my 50
years at Loroco, there are a few situations, both good and bad that come to
mind. I was only 35 years old when my father became
terminally ill and was I forced into the Presidency. Around the same time
Oliver Huber, the company's long time V.P. and G.M. who was also my mentor,
became severely ill and never returned to work.
What a situation to be in,
President of Loroco, young and inexperienced and with little guidance or
managerial help. To further complicate
matters, we were in the middle of installing a new paper machine at the Lancaster, Ohio
mill. I can tell you that I certainly spent a large amount of hours on the
highway traveling back and forth, between Cincinnati
and Lancaster
during those years. But these are the kind of challenges that can make one
stronger and hopefully wiser. The good that came out of it was finally in the
late 1970's, we sold the paper mill and consolidated our operations in the Blue
Ash plant, making it the efficient and modern facility that it is today.
Another very exciting time
in the mid 1980's was the acquisition of another piece of equipment, the
Polyethylene Extruder. It was a major installation that benefited our customers
in providing poly-coated products. In addition, I am very proud of our
laminating and die cutting lines, a process that we developed in the 1940's.
That first machine looked like a toy compared to the fast and efficient
production lines we are operating today.
The company has grown
significantly throughout the years. In addition to our headquarters in Blue
Ash, we now operate Royal Pad Products in Lancaster,
Ohio and Greenville Paper Converting and
Distribution in Greenville,
South Carolina. As I look ahead, I
am very excited about Loroco's prospects for future expansion. This business
has kept me young and I expect to remain involved for another 50 years!
